11. Acid-fast Bacterial Infection of Swine.
1) Swelling of skin by the tuberculin test.
2) Swelling of mesenteric lymph nodes and caseous degeneration at its sectioned surface (arrow).
3) Granulomatous inflammation composed of epitheloid cells and Langerhans type multinucleic giant cells at mesenteric lymph nodes (HE staining).
4) Colonies of
Mycobacterium intracellulare,
colored by long culture on the Ogawa media.
