2. Infectious Hemoglobinuria (Babesia bovis Infection)
1) Marked jaundice findings of subcutaneous tissues and fatty tissues of abdominal cavity, and enlargement of the urinary bladder due to retention of hemoglobinuria. 2) Congestion of the brain by accumulation of red blood cells infected with B. bovis in capillary blood vessels.
3) B. bovis in red blood cells; smaller than B. bigemina or B. ovata (Giemsa staining). 4) Accumulation of infected red blood cells in capillary blood vessels of the brain.
