Background and Purpose
In Vietnam the governmental offices piece out the animal health situation on the farms from insufficient information due to the present incomplete service system derived from inadequate treatment for animal health workers in the field. In addition, as a result of the charging system for animal health services to farmers, their positive cooperation can no longer be expected for governmental control measures on animal diseases such as report of disease outbreak, compulsive vaccination, restriction for animal movement, etc.
Therefore, the Project has aimed to accumulate reliable information on animal health by improving regional cooperation system and resources for effective animal disease control, and diagnostic techniques so as to bear benefit to farmers and to regain their reliance in the animal health officers eventually.
In JFY2005 the farmers concerned were far from cooperative for the sampling of In-Country Activities on CSF and HS, and the situation did not appear to be improving. In order to break the distrust of the farmers against animal health workers, it is suggested to cooperate with the dairy cattle project of JICA to effectively provide reliable animal health services to farmers. |
